Instagram’s Save button only bookmarks a Reel inside the app. You cannot open it in your gallery, edit it in CapCut or watch it on a plane without data. If the creator deletes it, your saved copy disappears too.
In this guide you will learn how to download Instagram Reels as real MP4 files on Android, iPhone and computer, with the original sound, without logging in and without installing an app.
Step 1: Copy the Reel link
Every download starts with the link. In the Instagram app, open the Reel and tap the paper plane icon, then Copy link. You can also tap the three dots and choose Copy link. On a computer, open the Reel on instagram.com and copy the address from the browser bar.
A correct link looks like instagram.com/reel/… or instagram.com/p/…. Profile links will not work, because they do not point to a single video.
Download Instagram Reels on Android
- Copy the Reel link as shown above.
- Open Chrome and go to the PullClip Instagram downloader.
- Tap Paste, then Download.
- Choose the top quality and tap Save.
- Open your gallery or the Downloads folder to find the MP4.
If you save Reels often, tap Install the app on PullClip. It adds PullClip to your home screen and to Instagram’s share menu, so the next time you can share a Reel straight to PullClip.
Download Instagram Reels on iPhone
- Copy the Reel link in Instagram.
- Open Safari and go to PullClip. Other browsers work too, but Safari handles downloads most smoothly.
- Tap Paste, then Download, and save the quality you want.
- Tap the download arrow next to the address bar. The file goes to the Files app, in Downloads.
- Open it in Files, tap Share and choose Save Video to add it to Photos.
Download Instagram Reels on PC or Mac

Save only the audio of a Reel

Why is my Reel not 1080p?
Instagram compresses every upload and keeps many Reels at 720p. PullClip always lists the best version Instagram has for that Reel, so if 1080p is missing, it simply was not available. No downloader can add detail that is not in the file.
