X (formerly Twitter) has no button to save a video to your phone. You can bookmark the post, but if the author deletes it or their account goes private, the clip is gone.
Here is how to save X videos straight to your iPhone or Android gallery in a few taps, with sound and in the best quality available. No app, no login and no shortcuts to install.
How to copy the link of an X video
Open the post that contains the video and tap the Share icon (the arrow at the bottom right of the post), then tap Copy link. The link looks like x.com/username/status/…. Old twitter.com links work exactly the same.
Save X videos on iPhone
- Copy the post link in the X app.
- Open Safari and go to the PullClip X video downloader.
- Tap Paste, then Download.
- Pick the highest quality and tap Save. Confirm the download if Safari asks.
- Open the Files app, go to Downloads, tap the video, then Share and Save Video. It now appears in Photos.
Tip: add PullClip to your home screen from Safari’s Share menu. It opens like an app and remembers your recent downloads on that device.
Save X videos on Android
- Copy the post link in the X app.
- Open Chrome and go to PullClip.
- Tap Paste, then Download.
- Choose a quality and tap Save. The MP4 goes to your Downloads folder and shows in your gallery.
On Android you can go one step further: tap Install the app on PullClip once, and it appears in the share menu of the X app. Tap Share on any video post, choose PullClip, and the download starts right away.
Save X videos on a computer
Open the post on x.com, copy the address from the browser bar and press Ctrl+V anywhere on the PullClip page. Pick a quality and the file lands in your Downloads folder. To move it to your phone, scan the Send to phone QR code.
What about GIFs?
X does not store GIFs as real GIF files. It converts them into short, silent video loops. When you download one with PullClip you get a small MP4 that plays and loops in any gallery or messaging app, and it is much smaller than a GIF would be.

Why an X video will not download
- Protected account: only approved followers can see those posts, so they cannot be fetched.
